Birchbox + Color Club Wanderlust Collection: "London Calling" Pics + Review

I should start this by saying that I abhor the formula on these polishes, and this one seems to be the worst, which is sad because it's a nice color. "London Calling" is a super light, green grape green, which reminds me a lot of OPI's "Gargantuan Green Grape", another color I adore. This one, however, is thick and streaky and extremely difficult to apply. See how my manicure looks messy? That's because I really could not work with this polish.

Something I have noticed about these polishes which is different from other Color Club polishes I have used is the wear time. The entire Wanderlust collection will last at least a week on the nails without chipping, even on the toes.

The only significant difference between "London Calling" and "Gargantuan Green Grape" is the opacity of "London Calling". It may be thick and streaky, but "London Calling" covers in two coats, and with a top coat it looks more smooth. GGG requires at least three coats. Another, less noticeable difference is that London Calling has that neon edge to it, but it is not so neon that it really looks that different compared to GGG.

All of that said, the streaky formula makes the score for this one low, and it is not an especially unique color. I give it 2/5. It does have excellent wear time, and it is a nice color.

Sinful Colors "Show Me The Way"

I really like this color, but I dislike the formula. It's super super thin and watery. I did two coats for this photo, but it needed three coats to be opaque, and I didn't have the patience to do that! A lovely color, though. 1.99 USD at Walgreens, so why am I complaining? At least it didn't make me want to throw the bottle out the window like one I will soon share!!

Essie "Sew Psyched"

This is two coats of Essie's "Sew Psyched" nail polish, which is an olive green/grey color. Slight shimmer is visible in the bottle and in this photo, but in real life, it is not that noticeable on the nails. This polish has a really nice consistency, and it applies very smoothly. I could have left it alone at one coat as it was fully opaque, but I just feel better having two coats on. The drying time is pretty standard for Essie nail polish, and I don't find the scent of this one to be overwhelmingly gross and "nail polish-y". I appreciate that in a nail polish, but because it is nail polish, I don't judge them by the scents. Overall this is a really nice nail polish, maybe not everyone's color, but this seems to be a popular sort of color of late. A lot of brands have been producing this type of color lately. Enjoy!

Orly "Enchanted Forest" with Sally Hansen "Hidden Treasure"

This is precisely what the title states, but I decided to use these colors because it almost resembles the changing leaves of fall. There is one photo showing "Hidden Treasure" flashing green, which looks gorgeous over the dark green base, and the other photo is what how it looks in most lighting. This is a favorite combination of mine, and I like that it is a little bit fall themed!

Sinful Colors "HD Nails" with China Glaze "Atlantis"

I am going to try to take photos in the sunlight with the sun is out in an hour or so to capture the glitter a bit better. This photo does not do it justice at all!

And in sunlight:

I used three coats of "HD Nails" and one coat of "Atlantis". I wasn't sure that I would like this combination, but I just decided to try it, and I LOVE it!

I have been using green nail polish exclusively for the month of October because green is the color of depression awareness, and October is depression awareness month! I will be making a more informative post on that soon (almost at the end of the month, too ---I'm a failure!)
