Zoya "Veruschuka" Matte Nail Polish

BFF did half, and it's shitty anyway.

Zoya "Veruschuka" Matte Nail Polish

I don't have a photo because I did a really awful job on this manicure, but the color is a matte, forest green. It's very pretty if applied properly. It's not as opaque as Dovima, so I had to use two coats, but the formula is better. I have no chips or tip wear so far, and even though it's only been a few hours, that's already better than Dovima. If I add a clear top coat, some sparkles come out, but not many. That's about all about that.

I tried some Almay foundation. Almay Nearly Naked Makeup. It feels pretty nice on my skin. I applied it with my fingers today. I'll see how it applies with a brush later. I did not use a primer with it, but it feels like it might have some kind of silicone in it anyway. I'll check the ingredients.

That's all. Nothing interesting.

You know how I like responses.

I bought two of those new L'Oreal HiP Color Chrome pencils today. I swatched them on my hand. The darker one has finally started to fade after 10+ hours. They don't smudge. The consistency and wear is very similar to Urban Decay's 24/7 liners, and that's exciting. The only problem is the limited color selection. Since these seem to be smudge-proof (I gave them the same test I gave the UD liners---vigorous scrubbing), I kind of want to buy them in all possible colors. The blue one seems to have disappeared, and that's the one I really wanted in the first place. I settled for gold and purple. I might buy black just because it won't smudge, and it's a pencil! I like pencils. I also bought two NYX single shadows because they were BOGO, and I finally found Lanikai. I just grabbed a random one for the free one since I was kind of in a hurry, and it was Taupe, which is really, really pretty. It is the color I never knew I desperately wanted. It is very similar to MAC's Soft Brown but with a little shimmer. Lanikai is, of course, the beautiful blue I wanted. One day I'll post photos and swatches.

My Zoya order has not been processed; it seems. The last time I ordered something from them, it arrived in two days. And then I was receiving two free nail polishes! I want my order to be processed more quickly! It makes me nervous when I check my bank account, and the money still has not been taken. Not to mention, I really want my nail polishes! AND if I typed my credit card # wrong or something, then I won't get my free polish (or the significantly reduced shipping, whatevs). I'm a Jew. I don't like to pay full price for anything. Damn it.

I have discovered a nail polish that I *must* own, and I am going hunting tomorrow. I believe it is a Sally's Beauty Supply exclusive, which is a problem. There are only two that I would drive to. This nail polish looks particularly spectacular with a matte topcoat over it. I need that, too, but that isn't limited edition, store exclusive, super hard to find and incredibly attractive to ME. I will have this polish. It is so Halloween-y. I mean---I could just buy the Halloween set and get the black I already have (and dislike) with the top coat that makes it look like the nail polish I want, but that's twenty dollars for three things I don't need and one thing I do. I can find the nail polish or swap for it. Or I'll buy the Halloween set. Either way--this is going to be in my possession, and eventually I will pair it with a matte top coat, and it will be glorious.

In other news, I have been reduced to expressing my emotional distress in sports terms. I have absolutely nothing more to say.

Zoya

I ordered two Zoya nail polishes. I got one free, but since their shipping is almost seven dollars, I'm counting it as significantly reduced shipping (since I technically paid for two bottles, plus some). I still saved six dollars! I ordered Yasmeen (what Flying Dragon should have been) and Veruschuka, which is part of the winter matte collection. It's a dark green. It's going to chip just as badly as Dovima. WHY DID I BUY IT?!

I don't know if I mentioned this---since Dovima is matte, it has to be worn on the nails completely by itself. It chipped within a few hours of application. Next time I will try two coats, even though only one is necessary. Perhaps that will help with the chipping.

I also got a bunch of stuff in MUA swaps, but I have tucked it all away, and I can't remember what any of it is.

Except one thing.

I never tried Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush lip glosses because I buy my lip gloss elsewhere, but someone sent me one (brand new, still sealed, obviously unused) in Cupquake. It smells and tastes like cake. CAKE. I have had lip gloss that smells like cake before. I have never had lip gloss that tastes like cake. I am officially in love with them, and I will buy tons and tons and tons of them until the end of time. Cupquake is also really pretty, but really---it could be hideous, and I'd like it because it tastes like cake. It's also super sticky which means it stays on forever. I even napped with it on, and it was still there---glitter and all. <3

Zoya "Dovima" Matte Nail Polish

I used only one coat. It dries so fast. It is extremely cool to paint your nails with one of these matte polishes and watch it dry. You can even blow on it and watch it go matte for a couple of seconds and then go back to being wet and shiny because it's not fully dried. I think, however, that the nail polish photographs a lot better than it actually comes off in person, unfortunately. I'm not sure. I also don't like that I have to touch it up a lot more often than I would with a normal nail polish since I can't use a base or top coat, as that would ruin the matte nature. This particular color, though, is by far my favorite just based on the photos I've seen of the others (particularly the red one, Posh). This really makes me want to buy either China Glaze or Essie's mattifying top coats. Or both. Some of the colors I have would look gorgeous matte. And matte is SO IN, and I'm always in, obviously. I'm also really impressed with Zoya. Not only are the polishes nasty chemical free, but they're much higher quality at a lower price than other nail polishes that I own. WTF? so full of win.

Pippa from Zoya

This nail polish is FANTASTIC. I could have used only one coat, but I chose to do two just because I do that. The color is the perfect yellow, creamy, smooth, and OPAQUE. There was absolutely NO streaking with this polish! YAY.
