China Glaze "Solar Power"

This is a photo of China Glaze's "Solar Power" applied at three coats taken indoors with flash. This polish is from their Ecollection from last spring. I find this particular color extremely difficult to apply cleanly. It always looks really messy on my nails, no matter how careful I am to paint them neatly. Also, this polish didn't even last a full 24 hours on my nails. I noticed a lot of tip-wear and some chipping on a few of my nails the next afternoon. While I absolutely love this color, I hate hate hate the formula. It's difficult to work with, and it never lasts well on my nails, no matter which basecoat or topcoat I use. I can only wear this polish for a day before it starts chipping away! :o(

Revlon ColorBurst Lipgloss "Crystal Lilac"

I purchased this for 6.49 USD at Target last week. When I saw the color, I just had to have it! It's so pretty, but as you can see in the swatches, it's not very pigmented. I find I get very little color on my lips when I use this, just a nice sheen. The texture is extremely strange for a lip gloss: it feels very dry, almost like a long-wear lip product, but this does not claim to be a long-wear product. It doesn't make my lips feel dry, though. It just applies very strangely. As you can also see in the photos, the applicator is quite different from most lip-glosses; it's curved, so it conforms to the shape of the lips a lot better, and I have found I can apply the gloss to my top and bottom lips in one swipe if I just push the applicator between them and apply. It sounds odd, but that's how it could be used. I prefer to apply it to each lip separately. It lasts for a fairly long time on my lips as compared to other glosses, but for a Revlon gloss, I find it the same as others I've used (Super Lustrous). Overall I think this particular color is really pretty, and it's a nice addition to any collection. This is the only gloss from the ColorBurst line that I have tried, so I cannot comment on the pigment/texture/wear of any other colors.

Wet'n'Wild ColorIcon Trio - I'm Getting Sunburned

I have used this trio quite a bit, so I feel comfortable giving it an actual review instead of just swatches. This is one of the newer ones that has been released within the last couple of months, and similar to the more recent ones, pigmentation is great as is the texture of the shadows. Each shadow in the palette contains a high volume of shimmer, but it never appears chunky: the shimmer always looks really pretty and smooth.
The brown in this palette is absolutely insanely pigmented. I barely need to touch it with my brush to get enough to do the crease and outer corner and have both turn out very dark. It almost ends up being black on the lids, especially from a distance, but up close, it is a gorgeous shimmering chocolate brown.
The brow bone color (the pink) does not work at all for a highlight on the eyes. It works best placed directly on the orbital bone above the brown and a separate, matte color right under the brow to highlight. Each color looks really nice on its own, but the pink is the least pigmented. It could potentially be applied as a highlight if one used an extremely light hand with it.
The bronze-y lid color can apply a bit chunky if I try to sweep it on with a brush rather than using a patting motion. I also get a lot of shimmery fallout, so I would recommend doing face makeup after applying any of these shades.
The end result, though, is a smooth, shimmery eye, and despite the high shimmer in the crease color, it has the color depth to provide shading in the crease.
This palette is definitely 2.99 USD well spent, and I highly recommend trying this if these colors interest you.

Wet ' n ' Wild 8 Pan Palette - Comfort Zone

I bought this today at Walgreens for 4.99 USD. That's quite a good deal considering these shadows are really nicely pigmented, very smooth, blendable, and NOT tested on animals. The light chocolate brown with the green-ish sheen is a perfect dupe for MAC's "Club" eyeshadow, which is an amazing shadow. Since I just bought this today I have not yet used it on my eyes, but I did play around with the colors quite a bit on my hands/arms, so I feel confident in saying that I like this palette. Also, I have used so many of the new Color Icon shadows and palettes from Wet ' n ' Wild that I can say the overall quality is good. They are mostly the same quality with the exception of maybe one or two shadows. This palette has no disappointments in it, though.

I believe this is my favorite combination with HT so far. It looks gorgeous of "Here Today . . . Aragon Tomorrow" as well as "Pamplona Purple", but this just ---I love it.
