It's Kind of A Funny Story by Ned Vizzini

Book numero uno of the year was It's Kind of A Funny Story. I am not especially impressed. It's a subject matter to which I can relate pretty well, but I found the majority of the story and writing a bit tedious. I don't really know what about the story was kind of funny, either. The writing is really simple and juvenile, but that caters to the intended audience and has nothing to do with me at all. Perhaps if I had read this when I was younger, I would have liked it better. It was unfortunately published after my childhood. Anyway, juvenile and tedious makes a bad combination. I will, however, say that I wanted to finish the book. This is not a book that I could leave for days and days. I finished it in less than a day, all hours spent reading totaled. I had to finish it, so it has that readable quality going for it. Because the language is simple and the story is also pretty simple, I would not have expected to have any problems concentrating on this book, and I didn't. (Concentration is difficult for me.)
